- In Muslim cities tall buildings and mosques were very popular. The mosques were had a very distinctive look because they usually had at least one minaret witch was a tall tower. The mosque was also considered the most important building because it was their place of worship.

- Muslims studied geography and while doing that they also studied plants, animals, and the climate that was native to that region. Along with that they also divided the world into climate zones. Out of curiosity they also studied and wrote maps and found new ways of navigation.

- The Muslims were very involved in spreading knowledge and new methods of medicine. They had already learned much from the Greeks and Indians they were treating people with diet, drugs, and exercise. They also used herbs and other plants to sooth pain.

- The Muslims were very creative when it came to art and music. The most popular form of art was arabesque witch was flowers, leaves, and stems, they also used calligraphy. It was the art of beautiful handwriting. Muslim music also had a large impact on music today. Singers used their music to create songs about love, glory of their home, and  nature. This music influenced music in Europe and North Africa. 
- The Muslims had a great deal of influence in the math world. They were very good at algebra and wrote many books on it that were used in many schools. Those books were then translated into Latin and sent to schools in Europe. They also stared using zero.

- For recreation Muslims played many games and had  challenges for people. They adapted and played games like chess and polo. Both were very popular among the people. They enjoyed the mental challenge with chess and liked using horseback as it was a game for the wealthy.
