- Augustus was an emperor of Rome. He was the emperor that Stared the Pax Romana which means "Roman Peace". According to the text, on pg 14, it states, "Augustus reign began the Pax Romana, or "Roman Peace"-200 years of peace and prosperity enjoyed across the empire." This means that Augustus started many good things of Rome during this reign as emperor.
