  • Road to the White House!
  • Zdrs: 2
  • Welcome back to ROAD TO THE WHITE HOUSE! The only game show where the grand prize is the presidency of the United States!
  • Zdrs: 3
  • Let’s start by laying out some ground rules...
  • 1. The contestant must survive EIGHT rounds.2. Each round is one step on their path to presidency.3. Make a wrong move… your poll numbers take a hit!4. Make it through all the rounds… presidency… unlocked!
  • Now, let's meet tonight's contestant!
  • Zdrs: 4
  • Hi everyone!
  • TED
  • Zdrs: 5
  • I'm Ted from Indiana! I'm 58 with a lovely wife and two kids at home. Super excited to be here and represent!
  • Zdrs: 6
  • That spirit and excitement is heart warming! That ain’t gonna last long. Am I right gang?!
  • WOO HOO!!!!
  • YAYYYY!!!
  • Zdrs: 7
  • Alright. Let's head over to Round One!
  • Zdrs: 8
  • ROUNDONE:
  • GETTING MENTIONED
  • Zdrs: 9
  • First you have to get mentioned. Before you can win votes, people actually need to know who you are.
  • So how do I get noticed?
  • Zdrs: 10
  • I’ll tell ya how. Candidates often start by making speeches, appearing at events, using social media, and associating with well liked people in their party. The goal here is visibility. Got it? I sure hope so, because if voters don’t know who you are, you’re done before you even get the chance to start.
  • Zdrs: 11
  • Now, time for our first game. You will have one minute to craft three tweets that will capture the publics attention. Remember, the craftier the better!
  • Ready? Well I hope so! Ready, set, GO!
  • Zdrs: 12
  • Hmmmmmm...
  • Zdrs: 13
  • Okay Ted! Read out your tweets!
  • Okay here we go. If only my kids were here to help me with this!
  • Zdrs: 15
  • Haha great! Congratulations Ted! You win 58 votes!
  • YAY!
  • Zdrs: 16
  • ROUNDTWO:
  • ORGANIZING TO START A CAMPAIGN
  • Zdrs: 17
  • Round two: Organizing your campaign! You can’t run alone, so it’s important to build a campaign by hiring staff, recruiting volunteers, and opening headquarters.
  • Zdrs: 18
  • Well who is the most important?
  • A campaign manager of course! They run strategy, schedules, and messaging. Without these guys, even the most popular of guys fail. Let’s see how you do.
  • Zdrs: 19
  • During your campaign, you have to think quickly. In this game, you will race to the finish line where the campaign managers are. The faster you are, the more qualified campaign manager you will receive.
  • Sounds good! Let's hope I don't break a leg.
  • HAHAHA!!!
  • Zdrs: 20
  • READY, SET, GO!
  • Zdrs: 21
  • Very good! You won the most qualified campaign manager along with 72 votes!
  • Zdrs: 22
  • That was exciting… How are you feeling?
  • That sure is right! Let’s head over to round three!
  • Zdrs: 23
  • ROUNDTHREE:
  • STRATEGY
  • Zdrs: 24
  • Strategy! Every campaign needs a plan. This includes the 4 T’s. Theme, target voters, timing, technology. Tell us your plan!
  • My theme defines my message, my target voters are who I’ll be focusing on, timing decides when I campaign where, and technology will help spread my message around.
  • Zdrs: 25
  • You’re a natural! Candidates also choose positions on key issues, including the economy, healthcare, the environment, and foreign policy.
  • Now, you will have one minute to come up with a catchphrase. They will be rated out of 10. The better rating means more votes!Time starts now!
  • Zdrs: 26
  • Hmmmmmmm...
  • Zdrs: 27
  • Time is up!
  • Okay...my slogan is America: A Place for All
  • Zdrs: 28
  • Not bad! You got a 7/10, which translates to…41 votes!
  • This is starting to get tiring… and we’re only on step-
  • IT"S TIME FOR ROUND FOUR!!!!!!!!!
  • Zdrs: 29
  • ROUNDFOUR:
  • USING THE MEDIA AND DEBATES
  • Zdrs: 30
  • Round four! This is when candidates use TV ads, social media, interviews, and debates to communicate directly with voters
  • Debates are pretty stressful, they can make or break a campaign
  • Zdrs: 31
  • Bingo! One viral moment can boost poll numbers… or sink them. Media exposure shapes public perception more than almost anything else.
  • In this game, you will grab as many likes as you can. Hearts will start falling, so make sure the media knows who you are!
  • Zdrs: 33
  • Time! Ted, you got 11 hearts! Pretty good! That gets you 37 votes.
  • Social media is so stressful… I think I just had a heart attack.
  • No time for farting around! It’s time for round 5! Raising Money!
  • Zdrs: 34
  • ROUNDFIVE:
  • RAISING MONEY
  • Zdrs: 35
  • Candidates raise money through individual donations, PACs, and Super PACs. FEC rules limit how much individuals can donate directly.
  • But Super PACs can spend unlimited money as long as they don’t coordinate with the candidate!
  • Zdrs: 36
  • It’s like you’ve already done this! That’s a legal loophole that plays a pretty big role in modern day elections. For this round, you’ll need to pick up the money on the ground, get enough, and you win yourself some nice electoral votes!
  • Zdrs: 38
  • Nice one! All that money secured you 32 more electoral votes!
  • Zdrs: 39
  • ROUNDSIX:
  • WINNING THE PRIMARY
  • Zdrs: 40
  • Round 6! Winning the primary! Candidates compete in state primaries and caucuses to earn delegates.
  • And early states like Iowa and New Hampshire matter a lot because they build momentum.
  • Zdrs: 0
  • First tweet: I visited the troops today! Proud to be part of this great country!💪💪Second: Happy National Food Bank Day! Everyone go help your local food banks today if you can! #USAstrongThird: Wishing everyone a great holiday! Reminder to vote in the upcoming election! #votingmatters.
  • This presidency isn’t for the faint of heart...or the weak of heart! *gasping*
