before the Punic wars the Rome republic was getting stronger and more advanced but got threats of war from surrounding areas.
Carthage was large and wealthy but as they expanded closer to Rome the rivalry got bigger and the wars started.
The first Punic war was fought on sea. Carthage was better than Rome on sea but Rome made a ladder that comes down onto the other persons ship so it was like battling on land.
In the second Punic war Carthage decides to attack Rome by traveling with elephants all the way round Spain but they got caught at the alps moutain and stopped for Rome . But Rome decides to attack Carthage and winns the second Punic war
in the third and last Punic war Carthage was week but Rome didn’t want them to come back better and beat them so Rome attacked Carthage and sold all of the people that survived.
Some punic war impacts are that Carthage was buried and put with salt on it so nothing could grow. Also the Rome gained all of Carthage territories which made them very large empire. Mostly all of that is green is now Rome’s territory.
