Hi. I'm Milo the peasant and I'm going to tell you about the Black Death.
The Black Death was an outbreak of the bubonic plague that struck Europe in 1347.
It first came to Europe when rats hopped aboard ships that sailed from the Black Sea.
The rats carried fleas that were infected with the Black Death.
Unfortunately#160;for us, we were oblivious to the spreading of the disease until people started to drop dead in the street!
The Black Death spread through the air as well as bites from infected rats. Because of that, the Plague spread quickly.
Uhhhg!
The Black Death Killed 25% to 60% of Europe's Population
Many people tried to flee for the country side. however, the Plague already spread to livestock...
AAAH! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!
Because this disease affected sheep, many sheep died. This lead to a wool shortage
Rats traveled on ships and brought fleas and plague with them. Because most people who got the plague died, and many often had blackened tissue due to gangrene, bubonic plague was called the Black Death
This effected the economy terribly.
The Plague had finally finished it's deadly course by the 1350's.#160;
The Population at the Time was Prone to Disease Spread
From the start to the finish, the Black Death killed one third of Europe's population!
The most popular theory of how the plague ended is through the implementation of quarantines. The uninfected would typically remain in their homes and only leave when it was necessary, while those who could afford to do so would leave the more densely populated areas and live in greater isolation.
BAAAAAH!!!!!
The Black Death was Believed to Be Caused By 'Pockets of Bad Air'
The Black Death, which hit Europe in 1347, claimed an astonishing 25 million lives in just four years.
