7; school has started and Manny becomes a manger for Lencho's boxing team.Lencho is a member of a gang called,"The Berets."After losing his fight ,Lencho gets kicked out of the Berets.
8; magda was pregnant and had a miscarriage. Mom and Manny took her to the hospital.
9; Manny has a crush on Dorothy. Mr.Giddens force Manny to go to Dorothy,s birthday party. At the party ,the other guests think that Manny is trying to make a move on Gloria. They make him feel like an outsider and like he doesn't belong.
10; Manny decides to join a gang and pass an initiation test. he wants to join the gang because he wants to kiss one of the girls. the initiation is getting beat by the gang members.
11; Manny goes with the gang to hang out. They look to rob someone or steal things from the drug store. Eddie steals a lady's purse and the cops come. Manny realizes that this is not the life that he wants to live.
