- Here, we learn how Janie struggles with her overwhelming attraction to Tea Cake, mainly due to their age difference. Janie does her best to resist Tea Cake’s interest in her, but her attraction to him is overwhelming and she ultimately gives in to her feelings. This is just the beginning#160;of them becoming them impacting the story is when they first meet and kept meeting after Janie tried to resist#160;to stay away because she didn't want to repeat the same relationship results she had in the past

- (QUOTE)The gun came up unsteadily but quickly and leveled at Janie's breast. She noted that even in his delirium he took good aim. Maybe he would point to scare her that was all. The pistol snapped once. Janie hand flew behind her on the rifle and brought it round.
- Janie is very unhappy with Logan farm she dislikes him more when she gets to know him. Logan wants a wife that can help him more outside with he farm but Janie isn't one of those women. Janie is a spoiled girl that likes to stay clean.

- He drifted off to sleep and Janie looked down on him and felt self crushing love. So her soul crawled out from its hiding place.
- This quote is from when the men on the porch are dismissive of Mrs. Robbins' needs in the same way that Jody is dismissive of Janie's needs. This alludes to the idea of men desiring power, and particularly power over women. Janie's defense of Mrs. Robbins and subsequent insult to the men is an eruption of emotions Janie has experienced but has yet to express.#160;This is why the theme is called loneliness#160;because she keep express her feelings abut Jody being dismissive#160;so she lonely inside .

- This is an example of man vs man conflict because the conflict between two characters#160;She finds teacake pistol loaded with three bullets instead of unloading it she sets it so that it will run through the three empty chambers before getting to a bullet When teacake returns he becomes crazier accusing Janie of treating him wrongly. Janie sees that he is holding the pistol. He pulls the trigger once and it clicks on the empty chamber. Janie grabs the rifle and hopes to scare him off.But he pulls the trigger twice more and he is about to fire again. Janie has no choice but to shoot him.
- This quote is written in third person by the narrator Janie begins to allow herself to trust teacake.It shortly after teacake return home after winning back Janie money from the dice game. Teacake had to fight a man to take home fair winnings and he proved his promise to support Janie financially. This allow her to over come her doubts about teacake.This impact the story because the narrator#160;give the audience a front row seat to the story#160;
