- Th next day as Richard walked to work he couldn't stop thinking about what Kayla had said...."you'll find out soon enough." He cleared his head instead and thought about what to get Kayla for Christmas. He realized that what better gift than to give her better lungs, but sadly there were no donners, so he then came to a conclusion that Kayla's life was more important than his. He called the doctor and scheduled the appt.
- It was now Christmas Day, both Kayla and Richard said they scheduled an appt. for each other. They lied and said it was for a annual check up....When they arrived they went into separate rooms, they were at the hospital. Kayla had her Heart taken and Richard had his lungs taken. Kayla wanted to say a final goodbye and so did Richard, so they asked the nurse to give each other there cards. The nurse did what they asked. Sadly they both died before reading the cards, but knowing they loved each other.
- The cards said...…."My love, as I thought about what would be a gift good enough for you. I realized there was no better gift for you than to give you my heart/lungs. remember that i will always love you even when I am not with you, I will love you.
