Back then, that enabled over 11 million people to vote, over which half did. In the next election (November 7th, 1972) five and a half million people 18, 19, and 20 years old, voted!

Nowadays, this enables around 77 million people to vote. Of which around 53.5% or 39 million do! Around 39 million adults ages 18, 19, and 20 voted last year in the 2020 election! That is one of the highest young voter rates ever!
