Ignatius was born in Azapeitzia Spain. He came from a wealthy family. He was vain and self-centered. His dream was to become a soldier and marry a wealthy women.
He lived a lavish and fun life.
He was a soldier at the Battle of Pamplona where he was serioulsy injured.
During his convalescence he was confused and was trying to figure out what to do with his life.
He would imagine himself as a great saint and all the things that he could possibly do.
