Kamal dies and Kamal's father is overcome with grief and kills himself as others look on

Baba's cancer
"There is chemotherapy, of course, but it would only be palliative" (156)

Kamal and Baba go to mulitple doctors all saying the same thing, Baba has cancer and there is nothing they can do besides prolong it but Baba refuses the chemo
