I would like to reinstate that the question is, what specific policies you will adapt? Senator Marcos, you mentioned in the interview you had with the Manila Times earlier, that you wanted to use diplomacy over military solutions. Are you changing that policy now? In that same event, Ka Leody was saying that he wanted to make the West Philippine Sea zone of peace. Now he’s talking about possibly escalating the situation in that area. It is undeniably that we have to deal with china. the question is how will you do it?
Mr. Ang had a follow-up questions for the presidential candidates.
The reason on why I spoke about putting a navy there is so that the Philippines have a presence in the West Philippine Sea. We would only show to China that we’re defending our territorial waters and will not to go there to fire upon the their vessels. It is like saying that we know what they’re doing and we don’t agree with their actions.
You’re right, my program is to convert the West Philippine Sea because since the place is an economic zone not a war zone. That is why all the claimants in the South China SEA should coordinate and unite with another. Not to make wars with China but instead show to the oneness of the countries. From that situation, the Chinese people should respect the claims and stop harassing the nations in the surrounding area.
Mr. Ang was satisfied with the answer of the presidential candidates. That is why the host proceeded into introducing another panelist.
Thank you for delivering questions regarding the controversies on the West Philippine Sea, Mr. Ang. Another topic will be opened and Mr. MJ Mondejar would be asking questions for our candidates.
