Coyote gets killed often after playing tricks. Fox and Bird have to bring him back to life often, frequently getting annoyed.
The Great Spirit came to Coyote as an old man. Coyote didn't believe it was him and told him to move the lake to the other side of the mountain.
After the old man moved the lake, Coyote believed it was him. The old man informed him he has finished his work and sent him to an unknown location to live until he is needed again.
You've finished what you were sent to do. I'm sending you home until your needed again.
The people now live their lives awaiting the return of Coyote. The moral of the story is that everyone has a purpose and who you are doesn't determine what that is.
