- On May 20, 1521 Íñigo López de Loyola was struck by a cannon ball in his knee while defending the city of Pamplona. His knee was torn to bits, the enemies knew his courage though and treated his wounds.
- Inigo travelled to many places such as this cave near Manresa where he prayed and lived for many months. During this time he reflected on his life and discovered that god is in everything.
- The Society of Jesus is formed on the 15th August, 1535 in Montmartre, Paris, France by now Ignatius, Peter Faber and Francis Xavier. It will from here grow internationally and have the abbreviation SJ.
