- We made the journey to Northern America and left our home, Pennsylvania, behind.
- But things started to go down hill when dad caught a terrible cold and when Northern America turned out to be an icy wasteland.
- Then, when things were finally lightening up and when winter melted away Dad's cold overcame him and I think we were all in shock when he passed.
- Nevertheless, we had to continue on and find a place to settle before the next winter arrived
