This is John America.You see, John America doesn't exactly know much about how the USA is actually run.
So, we're going to go on a tour of the United States Government. Come along, and maybe you can learn some stuff as well!

All three of these branches serve a different purpose within the government. They are meant to balance each other out and make sure that one branch doesn't get too powerful.
See these three buildings? Well, these are the three branches of the government: the Executive, Judicial, and Legislative branches.

Judicial Branch:Contains the Supreme Court and many smaller courts; responsible for reviewing laws and making sure they follow the Constitution
Legislative Branch:Contains the House of Representatives and the Senate; responsible for passing bills (ideas for new laws that the President has not signed yet)
Executive Branch:Contains the President, Vice President, and many other departments; responsible for enforcing the law and incorporating it into the country

Now, we arrive at the Amendment Restaurant. Here, they only serve amendments from the Bill of Rights. Let's take a look at the menu and see what we can order!

------MENU------Amendment 1- Freedom of speech, religion, assembly, petition, and the press.Amendment 2- Right to own a gun for self-defense purposes.Amendment 3- You cannot be forced to keep soldiers in your home.Amendment 4- Your car or house cannot be searched by the police without an official statement allowing them to, called a warrant.Amendment 5- When arrested, you will be given a fair interrogation.Amendment 6- Your trial will be fair and quick.Amendment 7- Your trial will have a jury.Amendment 8- You cannot be fined incredibly large amounts of money, or subject to a cruel punishment.Amendment 9- You are not limited to just the rights given to you by the Constitution.Amendment 10- Powers that aren't given to the federal government are given to the state governments.

State Government: Composed of individual governments in all 50 states.
Federal Government: Composed of all three of the branches.

One delicious amendment meal later, we arrive at the Federalism Stage. Here, the stage power is split in two. Some of the power goes to the Federal government, while the other power goes to the State governments.
