Della was crying beacuse she only had $1.87 and the next day was christmas she had no gift for Jim.
Falling Action
She decided to sell her hair for $20 now she had $21.87. To buy
Resolution
Lets keep our gifts until we can use them!
They decided to exchange gifts at dinner. The thing is Della didn't realize that Jim sold his watch to get her nice combs for her hair.
They opened their gifts and realized that Jim had no watch and Della had no hair.
Della and Jim decide to keep their gifts until they can use them.
