birds and butterflies have ZW chromosomes instead of XY like you. So, if I'm ZZ what does that mean?
Wow, those are some weird chromosomes! If you're ZZ, then you're female!
Actually, that's incorrect. I'm a homogametic male. ZZ males demonstrate traits which make them fit as a male, but would be disastrous for females.
Oh, I get it! It's in order to try and pass down the trait that males need to survive, and not give it to the daughters.
Exactly! The thing is, no one is sure how it happened. Although the ZW and XY chromosomes are very alike they are also very different.
Wow, I wish I had ZW chromosomes, XY is so boring!!
