Three friends in a coffee shop talking about up-coming elections and wondering why things never change

I propose that people should be able to vote on issues directly instead of electing others who may or may not do what they want them to do.
Zdrs: 3
But, I don’t know everything and don’t have time to research every single issue.
Zdrs: 4
Well, you can delegate your vote per issue to someone who you trust and has the expertise.
Zdrs: 5
Yeah that makes sense, but what if that persons or the majority votes for something to take away someone’s rights?
Zdrs: 6
Actually “JamesMadison/The Constitution” explains why we need “Mandatory Judicial Review” and Constitution that will prevent bad laws from coming into effect.
Zdrs: 7
What about all the hate and misinformation that's all over social media? how will people be informed to write good laws?
Zdrs: 8
We can have random citizens be selected to research and debate laws before everyone votes, they do that in Ireland and I read about that in the book Against Elections.
Zdrs: 9
But we can’t have all or nothing laws that just drive people to the extremes either.
Zdrs: 10
We can have people add their counter proposals to the ballot, if they want there by giving people real choices.
Zdrs: 11
So everyone is equal and has a say and they have access to same information to debate choices and there is a mechanism to protect from bad laws.
Zdrs: 12
Then everyone agrees that the U.S should upgrade to a Direct Constitutional Democracy
