  • Freud believed in regression, where you retreat to more infantile stage where some energy remains fixed. Sometime I will start sleeping with my childhood blanket because it gives me comfort.

  • Karen Horney believed that childhood anxiety was the need for love and security. In this situation, on the first day of school, I had anxiety because I am around new people. I strive for love and comfort from my mom.

  • When I'm older, I'm never going to procrastinate and always stay on top of my work!

  • Alfred Adler believed that birth order impacted personality. I am the youngest child, so I am treated with lots of love and encouragement. I am also always praised by my parents, especially when my older brother gets in trouble.

  • Albert Bandura believed in self-serving bias. This means people accept more responsibility for success than for failures. Whenever I do bad in dance class, I tend to blame it on my teacher. As opposed to when I have a good day, I believe I am responsible to my success.
  • Carl Rogers believed that people are basically good unless impacted by their environment that inhibits growth. When I was young, I believed that I was always going to be on top of my work, until my environment changed and I had more experiences in life.
  • Paul Costa and Robert McCrae believed in the Big 5 Factors, in which describe one's personality. On my personality test, I scored high in extraversion. This explains why I am very outgoing and like to stick out in a crowd.
