- Alvin Cullum York was born on December 13, 1887, in a two- bedroom log cabin in Pall Mall, Tennessee
- York had a life changing experience in 1914. He attended a revival at Church of Christ in Christian Union, converted and became a member.
- York's commitment is challenged. Congress declared war on Germany in April 1917, Alvin reeived a draft notice.
- York returns a hero, receives the congressional medal of honor, for helping captured 132 Gernman prisoners. He marries Gracie and have seven children.
