- Hi, My name is Martin and I am a Lakota Indian along with my great-grandfather.
- What am I gonna do? Grandpa's here and I am so embarrassed cause I made him sound like he's a movie star. Sorry Grandpa.
- Oh, how I wish I was more like them. They have family who have fun together while I have only a mom, a sister, and a Grandpa.
- Martin’s religion/tradition was that he was a Lakota Indian. His Great-Grandfather was a Lakota Indian. The fact that Martin was a Lakota Indian had made him embarrassed. He could not believe that he was a Lakota Indian.
- Martin, just know that no matter what happens, Cheryl and I will always be here for you every step of the way.

- Martin couldn’t accept the fact that he was a Lakota Indian and he was embarrassed when his Great-Grandfather came to visit him because he was afraid that he would lose his friends because of who he was. The fact is though, don’t be afraid to just be yourself.
- Hey! Our Grandpa is super awesome he's like a movie star. He brings us our favorite things.
- This is what Grandpa gave me. It's said to hold protection and be passed down to the male member of the family every generation.
- Martin is different from everyone else he knows. He thinks it's embarrassing to be differentbut he's wrong. He may be different but that's what makes him unique for who he is. Don't worry so much about what others think of you. Just be yourself.

- Martin loves his Great-Grandpa, his mother, and his sister, Cheryl. The Great-Grandpa shows his love to Martin by giving him the medicine bag that he always carries so the bag can protect Martin for whatever is to come, his mother and sister, Cheryl, show their love to Martin just by being there everyday to support Martin every step of the way.
- Oh wow, thank you Grandpa. Thank you mom, thank you Cheryl. I love you guys.
- Martin and his sister, Cheryl, were not only lying about their Grandpa but also exaggerated a little too much. In the end. Martin felt so ashamed of himself he could have died.
- The Medicine Bag was passed onto Martin after his Grandpa died. As it was passed down to the male family member every generation.
