3000 years ago, a devastating drought hit Greater Egypt and lasted between 1250 and 1100 BCE.
The Nile floods every year and, because of the drought, the River Nile failed to flood.
Without the flooding Nile, death came over all crops and livestock.
In order to prepare for the incoming doom, the pharaohs ordered for more grain in more fertile areas then shared it around the kingdom.
On and on the drought lasted yet the pharaoh insisted to breed more drought resistant cattle and grow more to keep his kingdom alive.
Today, Egyptians still use the Nile for many things such as transport, trade, industry, farming and they even they even built the biggest dam in the world called the Aswan dam.
