Hi there, I'm Oxygen. It's really nice to meet you. So you probably know that oxygen is in the air. But there are so many things that i can tell you. Like right now I'm in my Solid form. Which means it's around -250 degrees Celsius. Unbelievable, Right?
Oxygen
It's History
What do we breath? Hmmmmm. I wonder maybe it's an element on the periodic table
It's Name
What shall I name it? I know! Oxy-gène
Oxygen is an element of the periodic table.
Oxygen was discovered by Swedish chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele in 1772. But he did not publicly reveal his findings. He tested different elements and watched how they reacted to the air, he realized that the air was an element. Which in the future would be named Oxygen
Antoine Lavoiser named it Oxy-gène (meaning: Acid forming) because he thought it was the basis of all acids.
