How Tos about What Makes Me Unique

1

Encourage students to share their unique stories aloud

Giving students a chance to read their storyboard responses aloud builds confidence and helps them appreciate each other's differences. Try a supportive classroom circle or small group sharing to make students feel safe and valued.

2

Model how to brainstorm personal details before writing

Show students how to list ideas about themselves before starting the storyboard. Use a chart or sticky notes to generate ideas for each prompt, making it easier for everyone to get started.

3

Guide students in choosing meaningful illustrations

Help students select or create images that truly reflect their answers. Discuss how pictures can tell a story and encourage them to pick details that match their words.

4

Provide sentence starters for students who need support

Offer simple sentence beginnings (like “I am someone who…”) to help students who may feel stuck. Scaffolding makes the activity accessible for all learners and boosts participation.

5

Celebrate each student’s finished storyboard with positive feedback

After students complete their storyboards, give specific praise for their effort and creativity. This reinforces self-esteem and encourages students to take pride in their unique qualities.
