Amos in Boris nima veliko znakov v zgodbi. Zabaven način, da bi dobili svoje učence za povezovanje z in razumeti dve glavni liki, je, da so jih primerjati in njihovih lastnosti. William Steig osredotoča veliko o tem, kako različni so velikan kit in majhna miška fizično, ampak kako so njihove osebnosti podobni.
Študenti lahko uporabite besedilo, da bi našli značajskih potez in fizikalne lastnosti Boris in Amos. Študenti lahko delajo individualno ali v parih za raziskave in sestavite seznam dokazov.
