How Tos about My Dream Resume

1

Incorporate goal-setting discussions before starting dream resumes

Engage students in a brief conversation about personal and professional goals before they begin their dream resume. This helps students reflect on their aspirations, making the resume activity more meaningful and focused on authentic dreams.

2

Model a sample dream resume for your class

Showcase a completed example of a dream resume, either your own or a fictional one, to demonstrate expectations and creative possibilities. This gives students a clear vision and inspires creativity while clarifying the assignment's requirements.

3

Provide guiding questions to spark student ideas

Distribute a list of guiding questions (such as "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?" or "What skills do you want to develop?") to help students brainstorm details for their resumes. This supports students who may struggle to envision their future or need extra prompts to get started.

4

Encourage students to use visuals and creative design

Suggest adding images, icons, or drawings that represent students' future selves, careers, or achievements. Visual elements make resumes more engaging and allow students to express their aspirations creatively.

5

Facilitate a class gallery walk for sharing dream resumes

Organize a gallery walk where students display their dream resumes around the classroom. This celebrates student aspirations and encourages peer-to-peer inspiration, discussion, and feedback in a supportive environment.
