Student Instructions
Encourage students to share their wellness goals and progress in small groups or pairs. Peer discussions help students reflect, gain support, and generate new ideas for improvement.
Explain expectations for respectful listening, confidentiality, and positive feedback so all students feel safe sharing their goals and challenges.
Mix students intentionally to promote diverse perspectives and encourage inclusive participation during wellness conversations.
Offer specific questions like, "What small step did you take toward your goal this week?" or "What challenge did you overcome?" to keep conversations focused and meaningful.
Circulate around the classroom, offering encouragement, clarifying expectations, and helping groups stay on topic. Positive teacher presence increases engagement.
Invite volunteers to share insights or strategies from their discussions. Celebrate progress and encourage students to continue supporting each other’s wellness journeys.
An Areas of Wellness worksheet is a tool that helps students identify and set goals in key aspects of their well-being, such as physical, emotional, and social health. Teachers can use it to encourage reflection, goal-setting, and personal growth in students, either as a standalone activity or as part of a larger wellness lesson plan.
To integrate the Areas of Wellness worksheet, introduce it after a class discussion on wellness topics. Guide students to select three areas to focus on, describe their goals, and plan follow-up check-ins. Customize the worksheet as needed and schedule regular reflection points throughout the school year.
The best way is for students to record their initial goals, then revisit the worksheet after three and six months to reflect on their progress. Encourage honest notes about successes and challenges, and allow students to adjust goals as needed for continued growth.
Yes, you can customize the worksheet's instructions, questions, or images to fit different grade levels or subject areas. This flexibility makes it suitable for grades 6–12 and allows for adaptation to your classroom's unique needs.
Setting and revisiting wellness goals helps students develop self-awareness, resilience, and responsibility for their well-being. Regular check-ins let them assess growth, make adjustments, and build lifelong habits that support overall success.
