- “I’ve read your book about hunting snow leopards in Tibet, you see. I am General Zaroff.”
- Rainsford, a skilled hunter and his friend Whitney, discuss about an eerie island and the morals of hunting.
- CLIMAX
- “Why should I not be serious? I am speaking of hunting.”
- Left behind, Rainsford must make his way to the island for any chance of survival. At the island, he hears the sounds of gunshots.
- FALLING ACTION
- *SWIMMING*
- The hunter finds a large home where he is greeted by General Zaroff and his servant Ivan. His host treats him as a humble guest, but soon learns it would be best to leave.
- RESOLUTION
- *BARK* *BARK*
- “Hunting? Great Guns, General Zaroff, what you speak of is murder .”
- Rainsford now must survive for three days in the wilderness against General Zaroff.
- The story ends with Rainsford victorious as he is sound asleep.
