  • Prior to 1965 the SDS (Students for a Democratic Society) was a small political group ran by Alan Haber that first began protesting the War under the Port Huron Statement manifesto.
  • Students for a Democrtic Sociaty
  • On April 16, 1965, After the U.S began sending in more troops to Vietnam and started bombing the country. The March on Washington was held. which was at the time the largest protest in American history. Organized by the SDS more than 25,000 protesters march on Washington D.C to protest the war.
  • In November 1967, The Licone Protest or the Pentagon riots took place, Anti-war demonstrators Marched on the Lincon memorial then tried to storm the pentagon. This lead to a confrontation with the Police and U.S Marshals. After a brutal beating by the police 700 were arrested.
  • August 28 1968, The Democratic convention is being held, Outside 7,000 Anti-war protest peacefully come to support politic wanting out of the war, In response to this, 12,000 police and 15,000 State troop were called in, these led to an exulaton where police beat and teargassed the peacfull protesters.
  • May 4, 1970, A Grupo of Kent College kids held a peaceful protest against the war. In response, Ohio police began firing into the crowd Killing 4 and inquiring 9. This was the began of the End of the War on Nixtion.
  • In January of 1973, because of Overwhelming disapproval and discontent with the war from the public. The U.S agrees to the Paries peace treaty which makes the U.S Leave the Vietnam war
