The reason they have to provide for the soldiers is because the soldiers have to keep an eye on them and protect them because the indians were still mad because of the french and indian war which caused all of this

The colonist treated the soldiers badly and the soldiers were annoyed because they were far away from there home, the colonist were also anoyed of the lobster backs taking there things they wanted them to go
