- Identity theft is a very serious crime.  It can happen to anyone. Identity theft is when someone's identity is stolen and used by another for multiple reasons.
- Identity thieves can get your information various ways, such as stealing your wallet or going through your mail. If they have your information, you need to call the credit reporting companies and cancel all cards you have. Make sure to place a fraud alert too

- To protect yourself from identity theft, you can do the following. review your credit and debit card statements, shred documents containing personal info before throwing them out, Don't give out you information online.
