- In the beginning, the white family is introduced along with Sgt. Major Morris and the Monkeys Paw.

- Mr. White wishes for 200 pounds thinking nothing bad will happen to him or his family.

- I wish my son away...
- A Stranger comes to their door, Mrs. White lets him in. The stranger informs the Whites about Herberts death and their 200 pound compensation.
