  • Hey, there today we will be talking about the Reconstruction.

  • Radical Reconstruction
  • The Radical Reconstruction was a big impact around the world.
  • The Presidential Reconstruction was about how Andrew Johnson believed that African-Americans can not handle being on there own. He also believed that African-Americans should not be able to vote nor have the same rights as the whites. He also wanted to bring back BLACK CODES
  • White League & KKK
  • The KKK and White League where a bad influence on the people because they killed people.
  • The BLACK CODES where very harsh because if an African Americans tried to run away they would chop a leg of so it made it harder to them to run and try to escape. The BLACK CODES also had an effect on
  • Freedmen's Bureau
  • The Freedmen's Bureau helped the African-Americans on whatever they needed.
  • The Radical Reconstruction was ruled by the North which they believed that African-Americans should have equal rights as the whites. Republicans passed a civil rights bill so the African-Americans could have equal rights. The 14 amendment was created and was passed to the African-Americans which allowed them the right to vote.
  • Compromise of 1877
  • The White League is an organisation which exist in New Orleans, and there are at least twenty-five hundred to three thousand members.
  • The Freedmen's Bureau gave the African-Americans supplies so they would not die or get sick. They also gave the kids supplies. They gave them food because they did not get the food they needed so they gave then more food.
  • The compromise of 1877 affected the United States after the Reconstruction was over because they let freed African Americans to manage on their own.
