Presidential reconstruction was how President Andrew Johnson viewed how America should be. Andrew Johnson was born in the South so he had the same viewpoint as most other Southerners. Johnson didn't believe that blacks should have the same rights as whites. And he didn't want to punish the South harshly for what they did in the Civil war
White League & KKK
Black codes were a set of codes in the South that restricted the black's ability to exercise there rights. Black codes also restricted were blacks could go in the South by requiring them to have a special permit in writing from their employer.
Radical reconstruction was the opposite of Presidential reconstruction. Radical reconstruction was led by radical Republicans that believed blacks were entitled to the same rights as whites. They also believed the South should have been punished harshly for what they did in the Civil war.
Compromise of 1877
The KKK which is also known as the Ku Klux Klan was an organization of white Southerners that believed that blacks should not have the same rights as whites. They would kill and beat blacks that were a threat to them, and they would kill Radical Republicans. And if a white person would side with the blacks they would be called a disgrace to there fellow whites.
The blacks should not be allowed to vote
The Freedmen's Bureau was something made by Radical reconstruction that helped former slaves that couldn't make money in the South by giving them rations.
The Compromise of 1877 was made up of a lot of things like the military in the South was withdrawn.
