When it comes to understanding why people are pacifists for religious reasons you claim that it is more Christian to stop a beating from happening by use of violence rather than helping then helping a person after they have been beaten. Why is that?
You see in order to be a good Samaritan I believe that there is no need to call upon others to help since they will arrive only after the beating has taken place. You have to act in the moment and stop the beating from happening with violence and force before they are able to harm the citizen. This is why people go to war in order to stop violence from happening by using force.
Well what would happen if another citizen saw you beating up this person with no context to the situation, Wouldn't that make you look like the bad guy in this case. What if in using violence against this person you end up harming an innocent person who has been wronged by the other citizen
Well in that case that's just how things happen sometimes. In war innocents are going to get harmed no matter how many precautions are taken, since you cannot risk letting an enemy slip by since they will harm our good men.
Through that logic do you believe that you have to have a reason for inciting violence against others or do you think you have the right cause harm to other based on the idea that they may cause harm to you and the people around you?
In terms of that question and my duty as a soldier we have to protect our citizens if a threat is present. Even if the war isn't 100% just we still have to fight in order to protect the citizens of the U.S. from the threat of harm.
Well then that defeats the entire purpose determining if a war is just or not if you are just going to attack countries based on threats that might not even be entirely true or there at all.
All war is justified as long as we are protecting our citizens from harm. If we ignore threats long enough we could end up to a point where the enemy can cause some serious harm to not only U.S. citizens but U.S. soil as well. If threats are present a soldier must engage to do what must be done even in innocents are killed in the process,
Do you believe war is necessary in order for the world to operate in it's current state or do you think it is something that can be completely avoided when it comes to world relations.
In terms of the current state of the world today and all the politics that are pushed by world leaders. War seems to be necessary since most of these politics are based on war and the relations that we have with other countries. in a perfect world there would be no war but the world we live in as of now isn't perfect
I agree to a certain extent but I also believe that most war is unjust and is solely based on the threat of violence as you mentioned earlier. Some of the more recent wars we have fought we had no business being in and thousands of deaths could have been avoided if we had just never intervened.
As I mentioned before in war death is inevitable no matter whose side you are on and as a soldier we must do whatever it takes to protect others even if we believe that the cause we are fighting for is just of not.
