A period of time from the late 1870s to the 1890s in Georgia. During this time, growth in business and industry was encouraged by three democratic known as the Bourbon Triumvirate.

Henry Grady was the editor of the Atlanta Constitution newspaper from 1880 to 1899. He was a vocal supporter of industry in Georgia, and in a famous speech he was the reason why they called it the New South Era.

In 1881, 1887, and 1897, Atlanta hosted the International Cotton Expositions, industrial fairs that spotlighted the state's cotton textile industry. Grady was a key organizer in this event.
A political party formed by the Farmers' Alliance. The party represented farmers and the "little people" (non-big business) throughout the south, and challenged the the dominant Democratic party.
