  • I don't understand periodic trends, can you help me?
  • In the North Pole...
  • It's ok son, I'll explain it while I prepare for Christmas!
  • These are my reindeer! They are going to help me explain atomic radius. You see in the top row, they are decreasing in size. The second row reindeers in the same column, are increasing in size from those in the top row.
  • Electronegativity is like presents. Some presents like a phone, attract many kids, and some presents like makeup, only attract some. However, there are some presents like socks that don't attract any kids. Then there are some versions of gifts, that aren't as good as the best ones, so while kids may want that item, they want the best one.
  • that's correct
  • So from left to right, attraction increases, and from up to down, attraction decreases?
  • So this is like ionization energy? From left to right, it's harder, and from up to down it's easier!
  • My elves take different times to complete their training. For some elves, it is easier to complete their training, and graduate my program at a young age, while others it takes longer, and they graduate when they are older.
  • Here we have the elf infirmary for elves who have limbs. I have four elves who have all those three limbs. However as you can see, the elf on the top left is bigger than the elf next to it in the same row as well as the elf below him.
  • So this is like ionic radius, from left to right, the elves get smaller, and from up to down the elves get smaller too!
  • Here, I've arranged my reindeer my age. As you can see, as reindeers get older, it is easier for them to lose their antlers, while it is harder for younger reindeers to lose their antlers
  • This is like Metallic Character, for the reindeer in the bottom left, it is easier for them to lose antlers and for the reindeer in the top right, it is harder for them to lose antlers!
