- while defending the citadel of Pamplona against the french Ignatius was hit by cannonball, he sustained a bad fracture to his right knee and damage to his left.
- In 1534 Ignatius and six other men, including Francis Xavier and Peter Faber, gathered and propressed vows of poverty, chastity and obedience including a special vow of obedience the the pope in matters of direction.
