While running away from a coyote, Martha trespassed on a neighbors land, inciting rage in him, triggering him to call the cops
The Decision
While the police did come to the scene of the injustice, it was decided that they were unable to take much action against Martha, and therefore advised the two to attend civil court to settle the case
Paying the Damages
At court the plaintiff pled her case against the defendant to the Judge, claiming that it was in self defense against the coyote that she made a poor decision in trespassing
Life After Trespassing
Luckily for Martha, she was not charged criminally but was decided that she shall pay the damages to the plaintiff, as she was determined with 50% probability that she did commit the civil wrong/tort
As the neighbor felt bad for forcing Martha to pay 200 dollars in damages for the property damage, he took he to dinner at an Italian resturant
Martha now knows that she shall not trespass on her neighbor's land, she abides to his rules, and is yet to commit another civil wrong or tort
