Most of the taxes were passed without the colonists being represented in parliament. Such as Glass, Tea, Paper, Paint, Lead, Flint.
The colonists dumped British Tea into the harbor because of the tax on tea and colonists were forced to buy British Tea even if they didn't want to.
The colonists were paying the British to protect them but ended up hurting the colonists.
