- Capulet and Paris discuss Paris' desire to marry Juliet. Capulet believes that his daughter is too young to get married, but Paris is eager. Capulet proposes that Paris should try to win Juliet's heart in the traditional masquerade feast.

- In the Capulet house, Lady Capulet calls upon the nurse to find her daughter. Juliet, Lady Capulet and the nurse discuss if Juliet is ready to get married. Lady Capulet proposes that Juliet is to fall in love with Paris. Juliet cannot approve of Paris' love immediately, but will keep him in her mind, nothing else.

- Romeo, Benvolio and Mercutio attend the Capulet's traditional masquerade feast.
- Act 1 Scene 5
- From across the room, Romeo spots Juliet. All his emotions of Rosaline vanish in an instant, and he is now deeply in love with Juliet. Then begin to talk, and they share a kiss.
- Act 2 Scene 1
- Romeo decides that he must try to find Juliet. He climbs a wall into the Capulet orchard. Juliet appears in the window above of the spot where Romeo is situated. They confess their love towards each other once more and then depart.
