- The first battle of bull run was July 21, 1861 and the Generals for both sides were McDowell and Beauregard.
- The Union was so confident that they were going to win that they brought there family's to come and watch the battle.
- While the Unions family's were eating and watching the battle it looked as if the Union was going to win.
- After the first push the Union thinks its over and starts talking to their family, whenever the Confederates regroup and get ready for a second attack.
- The Union wasn't ready and starts to retreat, making the Confederates be the winner of the first battle of bull run
- Lincoln is very upset and fires McDowell and hires McClellan
