- Finally getting to visit my grandma in Nigeria. The place my mom grew up. My home.
- I'm your grandmother! You look so good.
- I can't believe I'm talking to my mom's mom!
- The next day
- I'm so sorry I just found out your grandmother has passed away.
- What!?
- Thank you. I will store this in a safe place.
- I took some videotapes and did some journaling of my experience with grandma in Nigeria. I wanted you to see.
- I'm really sad. Is it okay if we don't have your party this year?
- When you're a child of an immigrant, you never experience the youth of their childhood.
- My mother may not have a lot of remnants from her childhood or many keepsakes to pass down to me. But she has given me a greater inheritance- my soul, spirit, and Nigerian pride.
