  • On March 3, 1991, a there was a high-speed chase for Rodney King for driving while intoxicated on I-210.
  •  I-210
  • The LAPD officers used excessive force while he was being arrested. They beat him with their bats.
  • Rodney King suffered 11 skull fractures, permanent brain damage, broken bones and teeth, kidney failure emotional and physical trauma.
  • The people of LA were not happy, so they started riots. They burned down buildings and caused a lot of property damage.
  • The riots lasted for over five days in the spring of 1992 left more than 50 people dead, and more than 2,000 injured. The rioting destroyed or damaged over 1,000 buildings in the Los Angeles area. The estimated cost of the damages was over $1 billion.
