- This is Frederick the II. He was born on December 26, 1194 and died on December 13, 1250, at the age of 55. He joined the Sixth Crusade. Who won, you may ask? Before we get to that, let's hear the full story.
- The Sixth Crusade began on 1228, which for many historians was the delayed chapter of the unsuccessful Fifth Crusade.
- Frederick the II decided to launch the Sixth Crusade because he felt guilty for not leading the previous Crusade.
- Frederick managed to gain power from the people and his power started to increase.
- Pope Gregory the ninth start to feel intimidated because of Frederick increasing power
- Pope Gregory the ninth excommunicated Frederick the II, and Frederick began to lose support but recruited the army without the pope's permission.
