- The Compromise of 1850 was in order to get the crisis between North and South America. In doing so the Fugitive Slave has amended as well as the slave trade in Washington D.C was abolished.
- Dred Scott Decision
- This was a book that argued slavery was a political and moral issue. These made Northerners increase their protest against the Fugitive Slave Act. But the Southern condemned this book and it that it was false depiction.
- Harpers' Ferry
- This was a replacement for the Missouri Compromise. It was the creation of two new territories and allowed popular sovereignty. Due to the antislavery activists that came into the territories, it was an extremely rising know as "Bleeding Kansas
- Election of 1860
- Lincoln will be the new President!!!
- A man known as Dred Scott fought for his freedom in court and was fighting to be free from his owners. Once this case was finally won it was seen as the Supreme Court had a way to stop the debates about slavery in territories. It would take three years for Congress to pass the 13th amendment,
- John Brown led a group of 21 men to seize the federal arsenal. This happened and begin a slave uprising, invade the South, and to end slavery.
- In the election, Lincoln vowed to end the spread of slavery, Even though Southerners believed if Lincoln was elected that "it would be the greatest evil that has ever befallen this country" The Southern then began to secede starting in South Carolina.
