  • I'll take you to some places plagiarism happens all the time.
  • It's when someone passes their work of as their own.
  • Hey! Make sure you aren't plagiarizing!
  • What's that?
  • Tell me more!
  • Yes that is another form of plagiarizing if they don't say that it is okay. Let me take you to a place where plagiarizing could happen.
  • Plagiarism happens all the time in the classroom. Students forget to sight their sources and that means that they're plagiarizing.
  • Yes.
  • Oh so when you find something on the internet and it's not yours but you use it in an assignment without siting it, You're plagiarizing?
  • What about cheating on your friends ? Technically that is not using your own work and you don't sight it.
  • It's okay that's why people need to be educated. But there is some cites that are protected by a company called Public Domain. I'll show you their office.
  • Even in your room you can plagiarize. You can do that by either doing homework and not sighting your source or downloading apps, games, pictures, videos, etc. without the permission of the artist or sight your getting it from.
  • Really? So no matter what it is if I get it from a source I have to give credit to that source or I plagiarize. Wow I think I've plagiarized a lot then.
  • It mans that you don't have to sight the source or fear copyright laws.
  • There is one more business we can visit to end our learning journey.
  • Here's the Public Domain Office. Some sights will use this and that means that it is free to the public.
  • Oh that's cool how sights do that. Where are we going next?
  • What does that mean?
  • Yes all of those things are a great way to sight your sources. Now that you are educated on what and how to avoid copyright do you want to go back to your work?
  • This business is, well Copyright. So don't get on their bad side as you have noticed, they are the people that protect sources from people from copyright and punish those you break the copyright laws.
  • Yes, do you know how to sight?
  • I think so. Can't you just copy the link to the web sight, put the artists name by the content you have or use easybib.com?
  • Oh so if any sight is protected by copyright you have to either get permission or sight the source?
  • Definitely. I'm ready to write a paper without violating any of the copyright laws.
  • Yes that is correct! Know how do you sight or give credit to your sources?
  • Well, we are back to the binging. When you write your paper always member to give credit to the cite or artist you got your information, video, picture or anything else that you don't own from.
  • Great! Now go write your paper!
  • You always have to get permission or give credit to the source by pasting a link to the cite or artist web channel or page. Even mentioning in your paper who wrote the phrase you're using with quotations, followed by the sight or author.
  • Don't forget that if a sight is owned by copyright or even if it isn't and they did not give you permission to use their stuff you will be in huge trouble. You could even face a law suit.
