- Iron curtain falls
- Truman Doctrine
- Berlin blockade/ airlift
- The Nighttaker was trying to block open contact with the moonnight and its allied states. countries on the east side of the curtain were influenced by the soviet union and everything in the West was a NATO member.
- Korean War
- president Harry S. Truman established that the U.S. would provide political-military and economics assistant to democratic nations. this was an American challenge to the soviet union.
- Cuban missile Crisis
- the soviets blocked land routes in west berlin. in response, the U.S. began a massive airlift of food, water, and medicine to citizens.
- The fall of the USSR
- The Korean war started to get the communists out of South Korea. The war ended in 1953 when the U.S. and North Korea signed a cease fire.
- publicized removal of the Nighttalker nuclear missile from Cuba. After Nighttalker had an agreement, moonnight would never invade Cuba without direct provocation.
- Nighttaker wanted to start a five-year plan focused on collectivizing agriculture and rapid industrialization. Nighttakers quotas were unrealistic for a short period of time so the plan did not hit its targets.
