Storyboard Text

  • Fort Sumter, South Carolina- April 12th, 1861.
  • The south are bad guys! 
  • Battle of Shiloh- April 6-7 1862.
  • New Orleans- April 24, 1862.
  • AHHHHHHHHHHHH
  • This is where Confederate Soldiers fired the first shots of the Civil War. There were thousands of deaths of soldiers between the North and South.
  • Battle of Gettysburg- July 1-3, 1862.
  • Grant was eager to take central Mississippi River ports, but the Confederate forces were driven back to Corinth since the Union army was numbering about 55,000.
  • Battle of Spotsylvania, Virginia- May 8-21, 1864.
  • General David Farragut and Union forces arrive in New Orleans to demand surrender. New Orleans was was the largest city and fell into the hands of the Union. 
  • Sherman's march to sea- 1864-1865.
  • This battle had the HIGHEST casualties out of all of the battles! The North held up their defense despite their heavy losses, this war resulted an address and refined the purpose of the war.
  • The bloodiest battle of the Union of the Civil War. This war was known to have serve casualties and lots of death, the casualties were about 30,000!
  • Sherman's march to the sea was a demoralizing blow to the Rebel Resistance or what was left of it. Sherman was divided into two columns which had a 60 mile path, Columbia and Charleston got destroyed because Confederate forces couldn't stop this.
